Earlier this month (Dec. 9) Mysore wildlife photographer Mr Lokesh Mosale exhibited his work and launched his website in Bangalore. This marked the start of, what he calls, a journey with hope. He plans to take his work across Karnataka in a bid to spread awareness among people about the need to maintain the delicate wildlife-ecology balance with conservation initiative.

Mr Mosale’s website – www.lokeshmosale.com – is slick, simple, and rather slim on content. It provides the basics – a brief bio., a sampling of Mr Mosale’s wildlife pictures, snippets from media reviews, and his contact details. No photo slideshow, not even picture captions. We expect much more from you, Mr Mosale, than a brochure on the web.

For someone with a declared mission the Mosale website leaves much to be desired. I would like to read about Mr Mosale’s experiences in the wild while on a shoot, about the perils and pleasures of venturing into forests. He could make it meaty with a blog to reflect on his everyday life as a photographer and react to comments. Is it much to expect from someone with media experience?

Mr Mosale, who graduated from Maharaja’s College and did his master’s in journalism, was a teacher in the dept. of journalism. He was a reporter in Lokesh Patrika and editor of Janandolana Weekly. Interest in photography dates back to his student days and Mr Mosale’s photo features have appeared in many dailies and journals. His last photo-show in Mysore was held in Dec. 2003, when Rangayana art gallery hosted his exhibition - “Kaada Badukina Haadu-paadu”.
